    Good afternoon Mom's, We are going to be staying at the Ft. Wilderness cabins and would like information about renting bikes, canoes, electric carts, etc from the Bike Barn. Can you help with that? Are surry bikes available at this location?

    Hi Vicky!  I hope your family enjoys the peacefulness of the Fort Wilderness area as much as mine has.  For years we have stayed in only deluxe locations and moved over to try the cabins for a visit due to friends who were there with their RV.  We loved it so much we are now booking at least one trip a year for that location.

    You can reserve a golf cart for your stay with the price being approximately $50 a day. This is steep but it does make it easy to get around and discover all that there is in this great area.  You will need to call the Bike Barn as soon as you know your dates and get one reserved. It will then be waiting for you at check in. 407-824-2742

    The bike barn is located in a central location in Fort Wilderness.  You can rent canoes, kayaks, and regular bikes. I have not seen the surrey bikes that you see around the Boardwalk area.  The water craft that you can rent here is to be used specifically on the small canals in that area. You would not be able to take them into the lakes.  The Fort has its own marina for larger boats you can rent such as pontoons and the water sprites.  Other fun activities you might consider are archery, campfire singalongs and movies, fishing, and pony and horseback riding.  These all are available at Fort Wilderness.
