Hiya, Lindsay!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you for sending this
Disneyland Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR!
This is a great question, and I love that you're doing your homework ahead of your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth. At the current time, almost all of the
health and safety precautions put in place upon reopening from the pandemic pause have been dropped, including the need for facial coverings, inside, outside, and even on open-air methods of Disneyland transportation. You're still more than welcome to make the personal choice to wear a face mask, and it certainly is recommended by the State of California; however, at the current time, these are currently not required nor monitored. I suggest to keep checking the
Reopening Information link as things could always change, or feel free to write us back about a week or two before your planned Disney dates to see if there have been any more updates.
One precaution still in place is the need to make Park Pass Reservation in addition to purchasing a Theme Park Admission Ticket.
Park Pass Reservations kind of tell Mickey and his pals which theme park you plan on playing in and on which days so they'll know where to find you.
Pro Tip: It wouldn't be a bad idea to plan ahead and bring some masks with you in your luggage just in case; if masks were mandated again, I could see the ruling being put in place within a day or so's notice. This way you won't be caught off guard and have to scramble to be able to still have fun in the
Southern California sun. If masking returns, then I imagine the requirements would be like before where masks would need to be worn whenever indoors as well as on any attraction, even ones that take place outdoors.
