Hey there Indira and welcome to planDisney!
With the ever-changing landscape of this pandemic, it can definitely be easy to get a little confused about what's expected. But I'm glad to be here to help you navigate the terrain.
The Walt Disney World Resort
requires face coverings indoors and on all Disney Transportation. So for locations like
Princess Fairytale Hall where you can find Princess Tiana and visiting royal friends, you will have to mask up to talk to and take photos with them. Their Royal Highnesses and other character friends will not be wearing masks so let's do our part to keep them safe! You will also have a bit of space between you and them but trust me, the magic shortens the distance. My solo photos and interactions with
Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater were some of my favorites from my December trip, and even with a mask on you could still see all of my joy. Just think, years from now, you'll look back at these photos as souvenirs from this crazy time in our history!
There are also plenty of outdoor locations in the Disney Parks where we can interact and take photos with our favorite characters and at those, we can go face-covering free. EPCOT has some great spots to see characters, particularly some of our favorite princesses like Princess Jasmine, Snow White, Belle, and Queens Anna and Elsa. You can figure out where some are by checking the maps in the
My Disney Experience app. There's a drop-down bar that can be changed to Characters to find them. Here's a little pro-tip. Change that setting to Entertainment too. There are a bunch more character sighting locations under that setting than Characters. And if all else fails, ask a Cast Member. They'd be happy to point you in the right direction and help you in any way they can.
Indira, I know things are still feeling a little weird in the world right now, but I've found that with an open mind, newness is where possibility thrives. Let's embrace the magic of right now!
Happy planning!
