Hi gonna be staying at animal kingdom  standard does anyone no if the view is ok and if it's good resort for the kids also if there is a monorail that takes you to all hotels it's our first Disney trip mom of 4 kids 7 and under

    Hello, Bernadette,

We have stayed several times at Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge and have truly loved every visit there as it is such a unique experience.  The resort is beautiful and richly themed and filled with many things for families to enjoy. Even though you have a standard view, the resort has balconies throughout all the resort so you can enjoy the animals, too.

To help you visualize the view from a standard room, I'd encourage you to visit www.touringplans.com and click on Walt Disney World at the top. Then over to the right, pull down the menu under More and click on Disney World Hotels. You will need to scan through the page until you see Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge. Once there, click on the Room Finder link at the top of the page. This will take you to a page with lots of variables (make sure to select Standard View) to see different rooms and their views.

You might also enjoy exploring a fan website www.aklresort.com to learn more about the resort.

While there is Disney transportation at the resort, there is not a monorail. The monorail is located around the Magic Kingdom and those nearby resorts:  Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and Disney's Polynesian Village Resort. It makes stops at the Magic Kingdom as well as  the Ticket and Transportation Center where you can transfer to take a monorail to Epcot.

As you continue to plan your first trip, please don't hesitate to let us know how we can help.  Wishing you a pixie-dusted first trip to Walt Disney World!   -Kara
