Welcome to planDisney, Sarah! I'm so glad to be able to answer your question about my favorite mode of transportation at Walt Disney World Resort: the
Disney Skyliner! I'm going to be at
Disney's Pop Century Resort right around the same time as you are and one of the reasons I keep coming back to stay at this Resort Hotel is because it's connected directly to the gondola system. The travel time to
EPCOT and
Disney's Hollywood Studios is so quick, and there really is nothing quite as fun as gliding through the sky to your destination.
Sarah, I'm pleased to tell you that the Disney Skyliner is accessible for guests who are using wheelchairs and ECVs. There are purpose-built gondolas for guests who are using mobility devices that will fit your ECV and up to six guests, provided that your device fits within the 30" x 48" area inside. At each Disney Skyliner station, there is a dedicated accessible boarding area and a gondola will come to a complete stop to allow your party to board. Unlike the
monorail, you don't need to wait for a ramp to be attached and you can embark and disembark at your convenience while the gondola is stopped. Take as much time as you need to get comfortable, and your gondola will join the line and take off to your next stop! If you have any questions or concerns in the moment, there will be plenty of friendly Cast Members there to help you board.
I hope this answers your question, Sarah, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation!
Jessica
