Goingto a conference for my job at WDW thru 11-7-12. Going early to spend time with my family. Any packages to include our personal time there, and my work time. Hotel covered by job for 5 nights, Any suggestions on how to blend the two? Please help us.

    Hi Chris,

I actually just returned from a conference that I attended at Disneyland in California.  My family came with me as well.  It is difficult to split your time between the two.  I am glad you are going early to spend extra time with your family.  I have several suggestions for you.  First, I would check with the conference you are attending to see if they have any special rates available for you.  Most of the time, you will have discounted room rates before and after the conference so this may be helpful for you in extending your business trip. Next, if your conference has some half days, I would plan to meet your family at one of the theme parks. This way they can play, and you can join in on the fun in the afternoon.  This can be exhausting to burn the candle at both ends as you can imagine, but this way you can have both work and fun in one day.  You can also choose to meet your family at Downtown Disney for a quick dinner or some shopping in the evening as well and not have to pay for admission to one of the theme parks.  I always try to bring my family on conferences because I feel that at least part of the vacation is paid for by my work, and we all are able to stay at some amazing places.  Let me know, Chris, if I can help you further.  Have a magical vacation despite you working as well!
