We go to WDW at least once a year, and now we want to go to DL. Can you tell me when is the best time to visit? Is there a time of year that is better weatherwise? And where would you recommend that we stay? We usually stay at Boardwalk Inn at WDW.

    Hello Carrie,

If you asked 20 people their favorite time to visit Disneyland, you'd probably get about 20 different answers, but in my opinion, the best times are the week after Labor Day all the way through mid-November and early January prior to President's Day. Since LA area schools are in session during these times, you can expect to experience the lowest crowd levels of the year during these off-peak times.

The weather in the Los Angeles area is generally pristine year-round and rain is seldom an issue.
In the September, October, and November, temperatures will usually reach the high 70s in the daytime while falling into the 50s at night.  January is a bit on the brisk side, but still pleasant, with daytime temps averaging around 65, falling to around 50 at night.

If you love Disney's Boardwalk Inn, then I really think you'll fall in love with either The Disneyland Hotel or The Grand Californian Hotel and Spa!  Disneyland Hotel just completed a major renovation and features subtle touches of classic Disney magic.  Grand Californian is reminiscent of WDW's Wilderness Lodge with a very rustic Arts and Crafts decor.  Both would definitely fall into Walt Disney World's "Deluxe" accommodations category, like the Boardwalk!

As someone who had dozens of WDW trips under her belt before moving to California, I totally understand the importance of planning and preparing for the differences between the two resorts!  Please come back to ask me any questions you many have prior to your trip!
