We want to go to WDW during the Christmas season in 2017 staying at Port Orleans on deluxe dining plan with young kids 5 & 2. What do you suggest for best dates when everything will be decorated, and  what is a must?

    Hi Kara,

How awesome to know you are already planning ahead to spend the Holidays at Walt Disney World Resort next year. Well, let's get busy planning, then!

It is my family's favorite time of the year to visit. The whole Resort gets ready to celebrate with decorations all around, and some amazing special events. Starting in early November, Mickey and his friends celebrate the season in Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. And soon after Thanksgiving, amazing choirs and orchestras join a celebrity narrator in retelling the story of Christmas, in Candlelight Processional. This is a must-do event for us and very popular too, and the easiest way to experience it is with a Candlelight Dining Package, which will give you guaranteed seating for the event, after you enjoy an amazing meal. Keep an eye for details at the Disney Parks Blog in early summer.

Early December is a great time to visit, since most decorations will be ready while the crowds are still manageable. One last tip: make sure you keep an eye for Special Offers, starting in early summer. This will let you save some good Disney Dollars. And now, just keep planning... Just keep planning...
