We go to WDW in 35 days! I plan to bring 1 backpack in daily for the four of us (hubby + 11-year old twins). What essentials would you bring in? Also, would you recommend 4 water bottles (1 for each of us)? I’m thinking that would weigh down the backpack?

Hi Christian and welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm so excited that your vacation is just a few short weeks away!

My husband and I have two kiddos as well and we are very pro backpacks in the parks. In fact, we have started taking two, one for each adult. While it makes for one more thing to carry, it helps keep the weight of each backpack down and if we separate, we each have the items we need.

    Essential items we take include:
    Magic Bands
Disney Vacation Club/Annual Pass Cards for discounts and other perks
    Drivers License/Identification Cards
    Health Insurance Card
Cash/Credit Card (just in case it's needed for some reason)
    Sunblock
Rain Gear (if needed - we check the weather forecast the night before)
    Hand Sanitizer
    Phones/Camera
    External Battery for Phone
Autograph Books/Pens or Markers (stored in plastic storage bag)
Empty plastic storage bags to store leftover snacks (or a shirt that ends up with ice cream all over it...)
Protein or Fruit Snacks (just a couple of items in case someone gets really hungry)
    Sunglasses/Hats
Water bottles - we do typically take 4. If we are using plastic water bottles, we try to fill them partially with water the night before and freeze them. While heavier than the plastic bottles, we prefer the double-wall insulated water bottles on warmer days as they keep our water nice and cold. We refill our bottles as needed throughout the day.

If we are going to be out and about for just a couple of hours, we scale way back but the list above is what we take when we are planning to spend the majority of the day in the theme parks.

I know it seems like a lot but you will have a better idea after the 1st day or so what your family needs. I hope this helps you as you plan your packing list.

Please let us know if you have any other questions as you put the final touches on your magical Disney vacation!
