Hi! We'll go to WDW to celebrate my sister surviving brain surgery. We're extremely thankful to still have her with us. I was wondering is there any way to make her day more magical with some Disney magic? We'll be staying at All Stars Resort.

    Hiya Emma!

Welcome to planDisney! What a celebration you will be having with your sister! My best friend is two years out from her major brain surgery and I share in your joy of understanding each day is a miracle worthy of celebration.

There are so many ways that you could celebrate your sister and her victory and I am glad to help! We can start small but still special by picking up a celebration pin from Guest Relations at any of the four Theme Parks or the front desk of your Walt Disney World Resort. Ask for two as on one you will have the Cast Member write your sister’s reason for celebrating with a marker for immediate satisfaction and then you will take the second to Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe at Magic Kingdom Park to get it personalized in a fancy way for a nominal cost. A true souvenir that you will now use for all the pictures!

Make sure to purchase Memory Maker before you arrive for the discounted price as I am sure you will be taking so many photos together. You only need to buy it once and if you are all linked on your Family & Friends list then it's easy to just connect all images taken by everyone on your trip. If your sister is comfortable I would try and book her a Capture Your Moment session in her favorite Park. Make sure to bring her fancy celebration pin and be prepared to take all the pictures with her alone or with 7 of her favorite people.

After all the recovery and pain she went through I'm sure she wants to feel pampered. Book her a relaxing time at The Grand Floridian Spa at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. I know your arrival is days away but I did find available reservations for various treatments during your stay.  There is also something called a "Magical Makeover" with options for hair or makeup that can help her transform into her best magical self.

What's a celebration without a meal? A restaurant I would suggest is California Grill at Disney's Contemporary Resort which is an upscale and delicious restaurant that has an amazing view of Magic Kingdom Park and the Seven Seas Lagoon. The allure of this restaurant is that it has the perfect view of the fireworks at Magic Kingdom Park. No matter your reservation time that evening you can arrive any time the same day to head up to the viewing platform to enjoy it in style! Make sure to confirm the timing of the fireworks by checking out the Hours & Events Calendar

Make sure to take your time, take breaks, hydrate, and savor everything. I have run out of space but feel free to ask me more questions directly if you want more ideas!

    Happy Planning!
