hi moms i want to go to wdw alone for the first week, the second week a friend will join me. he will stay in my room i want a dining plan. can he also take the dining plan if he comes a week later? greetings from belgium

Hi Edwin, and Greetings from Missouri!

"Welcome Home" to Walt Disney World.  We are so glad you are coming for another visit.

The Disney Dining Plans are an option for Guests who book a Walt Disney World Vacation Package.  A Disney Vacation Package includes Disney Resort Hotel accommodations, theme park tickets, and an optional Dining Plan.  There are many other Disney Vacation Package Benefits including things like access to Extra Magic Hours.  To read more about these benefits, visit the previous linked page.

For a Walt Disney World Vacation Package with the Disney Dining Plan, all Guests in the room must have the same package.  This includes theme park ticket options and Dining Plan.  Therefore your friend must have the same theme park tickets and Dining Plan as you.

If you wish to make a room-only reservation, you are not subject to purchasing theme park tickets or a Dining Plan.  You may purchase theme park tickets separately with a room-only reservation but you may not purchase the Dining Plan without purchasing a Disney Vacation Package.

I hope this information helps you understand the details of the Disney Dining Plan and assists you with your vacation plans Edwin.  Thank you for submitting your question to us and please let us know if you have any more vacation planning questions that we can answer.  Have a MAGICAL holiday!
