How do I go about transferring Vacation points to Reservation points and booking a room at the Californian Hotel at Disneyland? I can't find where to see room availability using reservation points.

    Welcome Home, Kaden!

And a great big beautiful welcome to planDisney!  How exciting that you are thinking of using your Disney Vacation Club Membership to stay at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel & Spa.  As a Member for the last 20 years, Disney Vacation Club has allowed our family to enjoy dazzling places we never knew at Disney and beyond!

Kaden, The Villas at Disney's Grand Californian Resort are a Disney Vacation Club property.  So, if you would like to stay at this Resort using your Vacation Points, if you are an eligible Member, you can book it through your dashboard on the Disney Vacation Club website.  I'll walk you through how to do that.

First, visit the Disney Vacation Club website and log in. Then, go to the tab on the right that says "My DVC" and select "My Dashboard."  Scroll down to where it says "Plan Your Next Vacation" and put in your dates. You can filter so that you just see availability for Disney's Grand Californian Resort; however, The Villas at The Disneyland Resort are also Disney Vacation Club rooms.

If you do not see availability for your dates, and are within the 11-month Booking Window for your Home Resort and the seven-month Booking Window for all other DVC Resorts, I recommend to continue checking.  Guests' plans change regularly, and so availability can change sometimes within the same day! That is how we secured our Disney Vacation Club Resort hotel within three months of our check-in date.

Now, if you would like to put your name on a Waitlist for this Resort, you can have up to two Waitlist requests per Membership per Use Year. The one thing to note about this, however, is that you won't know where you are on the Waitlist.  If you are moved off the Waitlist, you will be automatically booked into that reservation, and any concurrent reservations you have made will be automatically canceled. So, if you put yourself on the Waitlist and change your mind, be sure to take yourself off the Waitlist so you don't get a "surprise."

Finally, eligible Members can use Disney Vacation Club Points for stays at non-DVC Disney Resort Collection Hotels. To transfer your Vacation Points into Reservation Points for a Disney Collection Resort Hotel that is not a DVC Resort, you would need to call Member Services. They can then check availability, make the transfer to Reservation Points, and secure the booking for you.  Please note that a non-refundable fee of $95 (subject to change) applies to these transactions.

I hope this helps you, Kaden! If you have any further Disney Vacation Club questions, stop back here to see us, and we will be so happy to help you.

    Magically Yours,
    Keri
