I would like to go to Trade Sams Bog Grotto but am not staying at a Disney hotel. Will I be able to park at the Polynesia? I just want to make sure I can park for free there to dine there. Thanks!

Aloha, Christine! E komo mai! I am thrilled to welcome you to planDisney and excited about your plans to head to Trader Sam's Grog Grotto. This oasis offers a variety of drinks and savory treats to take your taste buds on an adventure.

Located within Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, getting to the Grotto can be a bit of an adventure, too. Parking is available for Guests staying at the resort. Parking may be available for others with dinner reservations at 'Ohana and Kona Cafe and for people who want to enjoy an evening at one of the lounges. With so many reasons to journey to this resort, parking can be a challenge. Depending on the resort's capacity, parking may be limited to Guests staying at the resort or with confirmed dining reservations. You can ask at the resort gate, but there is no guarantee that you can park there.

If you were staying at another Disney Resorts Collection hotel, you could use resort transportation to get to the Magic Kingdom and take the Monorail to the Polynesian.

If parking is unavailable at the Polynesian, you could park at the Magic Kingdom and walk from the Transportation and Ticket Center. If you paid to park at a theme park earlier in the day, you can show your receipt to park in the Magic Kingdom lot without paying again.

The best advice I can give is to go early. The Grotto opens at 3:00 p.m. on February 25. The bar is quite popular - with good reason. Arriving early is your best chance to grab a seat and perhaps a parking spot before 'Ohana opens for dinner. It's still not guaranteed, but it might be your best shot.

I know this is not the definitive answer you hoped for. Unfortunately, for this question, there are so many variables at play that can impact your experience.

If we can help shed light on any other questions for your time at the Most Magical Place on Earth, please come see us again at planDisney. We'll do our best to give you the information and advice to plan your day.

    A hui hou!
