Hello Stacey!
First, a big congratulations! Gender reveals were not a thing when my little ones were born, but I simply love the idea, and doing one at Disney is exactly what I would have done! While there isn’t any specific gender reveal package available, there are many things you could do to set one up yourself. I have a few ideas that might work! Whatever you decide, enlist the help of Disney Cast Members and make sure you explain what you are up to. I am sure they will be thrilled to help!
Disney Floral & Gifts offers gift baskets and balloon bouquets that can be delivered. You could have it set up to deliver Princess or Pirate themed items to be delivered to your resort room to find at the end of your park day!
If you’ll have a large group of family with you, you may want to do something in the parks. I have seen couples go to The Chapeau on Main Street, U.S.A. and purchase an infant Mickey or Minnie Ear Hat. Give the Cast Member your sealed envelope with which hat to purchase. You could even have the date embroidered on it! Ask the Cast Member to wrap it up so you can’t see which hat it is. Then take your bag somewhere special! Maybe with a
PhotoPass Photographer in front of Cinderella Castle? Or maybe
Meet Mickey Mouse at Town Square Theater? Once you are ready, open your bag for the big reveal!
I love the idea of a photo session with
Disney Fine Arts & Photography. We have done the family mini sessions both in the Magic Kingdom and at the resorts. Ask a family member from home to create something like a small banner that says “It’s a Girl!” or “It’s a Boy!” and wrap it safely in a bag. During your photo session, get some sweet photos of you as a couple, of your beautiful belly, and then open your package! Your photographers will be able to catch that very special moment of surprise!
I hope one of these ideas works for you or inspires you to create your very own reveal! As an OB nurse, I am sending you pixie dust for a happy and healthy pregnancy.
Best Wishes,
- Kate
