Hi there, Lisa. Welcome to
planDisney!
Thanks for stopping by with your questions as you prepare for your magical adventure! I'd be happy to assist you today.
First, let's talk about wearing Crocs in the theme parks. They're my footwear of choice in
Walt Disney World for comfort, practicality (they're breathable, and afternoon rainstorms won't bog them down), and style (have you seen all the adorable Disney-themed patterns available
online?). I've worn Crocs on everything from roller coasters to carousels to flight simulators like
Soarin' Around the World and
Avatar Flight of Passage, and I haven't lost a shoe yet! Rather than stowing them during an attraction, if you're concerned about them falling off, I recommend putting them in "sport mode" as my family calls it, and placing the strap behind your heel.
Regarding your backpack, water bottle, and other items you plan to carry into the theme parks, I always suggest reviewing the prohibited items list on
this page. Backpacks are fine, so long as they don't exceed the maximum size (24" long x 15" wide x 18" high). You're also welcome to bring your aluminum water bottle and fill it at any location
marked on this map. I fill my water bottle with complimentary cups of ice water from quick-service eateries to keep cool on a hot summer day.
Since we usually carry water bottles, sunscreen, and other necessities for my family of four during a theme park day, my husband and I almost always take turns with a backpack. Nearly every attraction vehicle can accommodate a backpack at your feet, on your lap, or to your side. Rides where this isn't possible, (Avatar Flight of Passage and Soarin' Around the World), offer a space behind or below your seat to stow your belongings during the flight. Before riding
TRON Lightcycle/Run, you'll place your backpack in a complimentary locker before entering the final phase of the queue.
I hope I've answered all your questions, Lisa. Best wishes for a memorable trip, and if there's anything else planDisney can help you with before your vacation begins, don't hesitate to reach out again. Thanks again for visiting us, and we'll see ya real soon!
