Hey there, hi there, Beverly! Welcome to planDisney and thanks for stopping by with your question!
It is definitely less than magical that you're having a hard time making
Advance Dining Reservations for one, and I'm so sorry to hear it. I have the best memories of my solo trip to
Walt Disney World Resort, and sitting quietly and soaking in all the magic (and delicious food) during my dining experiences was one of my favorite parts! Beverly, pixie-dusted party of one, let's chat about your options!
While I am not sure why the dining reservation system is having a harder time finding a table for one than a table for two, I agree that it seems odd, and I completely understand your frustration. But if you're having more luck reserving a table for two Guests at a restaurant, I recommend booking it! After all, whether you're a party of one or a party of two, you'll likely be seated at a two-top table. Don't feel like having a dining partner? Hakuna Matata! It means "no worries!" In my experience, even if you're the only Guest to check in for your dining reservation, you can still be seated and enjoy your magical meal. Just let the Cast Member at the restaurant podium know that you will actually be a party of one.
If you still want fantastic dining options
without a reservation, I recommend checking out the lounges around Walt Disney World Resort! Some of my favorites are
Enchanted Rose at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa,
Nomad Lounge at Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park,
Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar in EPCOT, and
The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge in Disney's Hollywood Studios. They're the perfect places to enjoy a glass of wine or cocktail and fine dining in a more casual setting. And no Advance Dining Reservations are needed! Bon appetit!
I hope this was helpful, Beverly, and I hope you have the most magical and memorable visit to The Most Magical Place on Earth, full of food and fun! Please stop by any time with any questions you may have. You've got a friend in me!
See ya real soon,
Mandy
