How would I go about renting a handicapped scooter for the day at the park? My dad is coming with us and he can’t do too much walking without an issue.

Hello, Emily. Thank you for visiting planDisney with your Walt Disney World Resort vacation planning question!

Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) are available for rent at all four theme parks, water parks, and Disney Springs! The cost to rent a scooter is $65 and requires a refundable deposit of $20 if renting from a Theme Park or $100 if renting from a water park or Disney Springs (all prices are subject to change).

After looking over the site, there are a couple of other essential things you should be aware of:

    • ECVs cannot be moved from one park to another, but the daily rentals are transferable. This means that if you start your day at one park and plan on hopping to another park, you will need to return your ECV and show your receipt at the following location, and as long as an ECV is available, you will only have to pay that one time.
    • ECVs are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
    • Reservations are not accepted.

If you like to plan in advance and not leave anything up to chance, you may want to have peace of mind knowing that a scooter will be available when you want it and wherever you want it. If this sounds like you, you may want to consider renting an ECV/scooter from Disney’s featured provider, located at the bottom of the ECV Rentals page. You could also use your preferred internet search engine to shop around for a similar service at a better rate.

If you are staying at a Disney Resorts Collection hotel and utilizing the complimentary transportation options, you will be happy to know that the majority of transportation options will be available for Guests with Mobility Disabilities (read more for information about transportation and attraction access).

I hope this answers your question, Emily. If you have any other questions or want dining suggestions for your upcoming visit, ask me another question. I love sharing my favorite snacks and drinks with fellow Disney World Guests!

    See you real soon,
    Brent
