I want to go from Port Orlean Riverside to Magic Kingdom, but I would like to enter Magic Kingdom by boat. Is it possible and how long could it take? Departure : August 19th 2011

Hi Isabelle! There are a couple of ways you can do this - but it will take longer than the most direct route, which would be a bus from Port Orleans directly to the Magic Kingdom, which is about a 20 minute trip.

If you wanted to take a boat from Port Orleans, you could get on the Sassagoula River boat to Downtown Disney and take a bus from there to one of the monorail resorts (Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Contemporary) or Wilderness Lodge, and take a resort boat to the Magic Kingdom.

You could take a bus to Epcot from Port Orleans, and then take the monorail from Epcot to the Transportation and Ticket Center. From there you can take the ferry boat over to Magic Kingdom. You could also take a bus from Epcot the resorts listed above that have boat service to the Magic Kingdom.

Either way, you will be adding considerable time to your trip by adding those extra stops, not including the wait time for the buses etc. Going the Downtown Disney route will be about an hour, going to Epcot and then the monorail to the ferry would be at least an hour and a half. Taking the bus from Epcot to a Magic Kingdom area resort would be at least an hour as well. This is of course all approximate, based on when the buses arrive and the wait times/walking to pick up areas.

I hope this helps with your planning!
