can you go to the pool before check in?

Hey There, Hi There, Ho There, Joy!

You are as welcome as can be here at planDisney!  How exciting that your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World Resort is just around the riverbend.  I'll be you can hardly wait to immerse yourself in all of that Disney magic, including those at the Resorts!

Joy, I have great news! You most certainly can enjoy the Resort pool prior to your room being ready. But did you know, you don't have to wait until arrival day to check in to your Resort? You can actually do this a few weeks before your arrival day.  This not only helps the Resort have an idea of what time you will be on property, but it may help you to have access to your Resort room sooner depending on room availability. Though, typically, your room will be ready closer to "Check-In Times" which is 3:00 p.m. for Disney Resort Hotels and 4:00 p.m. for Disney Deluxe Resort Villas. It also saves you a step so that you don't have to visit the Front Desk on your arrival day.  You will simply get a text or a push notification from your My Disney Experience app when your room is ready.

Here's how you do this, Joy. First, be sure your Resort reservation is linked to your My Disney Experience app.  Click on the "hamburger" or the three horizontal lines in the bottom right corner and click on the "Resort Hotel" tile. Scroll to where it says "Check-In Service" and click the blue button that says "Start Check-In Now." Follow the steps to check-in to your Resort reservation, and with a Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo, check-in is done for you!

When you arrive to the Resort, you can check your luggage with Bell Services, but I do recommend having a day bag with you with your swimsuit, sunscreen, and any other items you may need to enjoy the pool area. It's a great way to enjoy to maximize the magic of your arrival day and then life is the bubbles!

I hope this helps you, Joy! If you have any further Disney planning questions, just keep swimming back here and I'll be happy to lend you a fin.

    Magically Yours,
    Keri
