I want to go to part where Disney characters are and the castle - what is it called and is my day ticket for only there then?

Welcome to planDisney, Susan! Thanks so much for coming to us with your question today. It sounds like you're planning your very first trip to Walt Disney World Resort, and I'm honored to help! There is so much magic for you just around the corner, so let's jump right in and chat about the Theme Parks.

There are four Theme Parks at Walt Disney World Resort, but there is only one Cinderella Castle, and it's located at Magic Kingdom Park. This is probably the first place people think of when you mention Walt Disney World Resort, and it's certainly the Theme Park I'd recommend if you were only visiting for one day! You'll be able to ride classic attractions like Haunted Mansion and "it's a small world" and meet your favorite Disney Characters too. When you purchase your tickets, you will be prompted to select which Theme Park you want to visit so make sure to specify Magic Kingdom Park before you finish your transaction.

You mentioned you want to meet characters, and while there are plenty at Magic Kingdom Park, there are so many Disney Characters to meet at all four Theme Parks! You can meet Mickey and Minnie Mouse in their safari outfits at Disney's Animal Kingdom, Anna and Elsa have a Royal Sommerhus at EPCOT, and the Toy Story friends meet Guests in Andy's Backyard at Disney's Hollywood Studios! If you end up staying for more than one day or decide on a ticket with the Park Hopper Option, you'll have plenty of opportunities to collect pictures, autographs, and hugs at every Theme Park.

    Have a magical day, Susan!
