If we go to the park before Mickey’s Halloween party, is there a place to keep costumes? Or can we wear our costumes all day long?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, William! It sounds like you've got a pretty great Walt Disney World Resort vacation coming up later this year and a trip to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party sounds like it's going to be one of the highlights. I love seeing Magic Kingdom Park dressed up in beautiful fall foliage and there's nothing quite like trick-or-treating on Main Street, U.S.A.! This special event is one of the only times that guests can come to the Theme Parks in dressed in costume, so let's chat about the rules so you can start planning what you're going to wear.

As I mentioned before, you are more than welcome to come to Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party dressed as your favorite Disney Character or in another family-friendly costume. If you scroll down to the "Candy, Costumes, and Characters" heading on the Party's home page you'll find special rules for guests over the age of 14, who generally aren't allowed to wear costumes into the Theme Parks, so you can make sure that your outfit ticks all of the boxes. With that in mind, the safety regulations at Walt Disney World Resort do not permit costumes for guests over the age of 14 during normal non-Party hours, so you won't be able to wear your costumes all day. The great news is that there is a really convenient location at Magic Kingdom Park to store them so you can make a quick change in the late afternoon.

When you arrive for the day, head to the right after you tap your ticket or MagicBand to enter and you'll find a bank of lockers available to rent under the Main Street, U.S.A. Station of the Walt Disney World Railroad. There are several sizes available so one locker should be enough to hold costumes for a few people. Your Party ticket can get you into Magic Kingdom Park as early as 4 p.m. so you can change into your costume around that time if you want. There are restrooms located conveniently nearby so you can change and drop your clothes back off in your locker before you start your evening. Don't forget to empty your locker on the way out when you're ready to leave after the Party!

    Have a magical day, William!
