we want to go with my mom and dad who have an rv (they would stay at the disney campsite) and we would like to stay in a hotel (cheaper than the cabins) that is close to the campsite. How far is the pop century resort from the campsite?

Pop Century is the closest Value Resort to Fort Wilderness and is about a 15-minute drive if you know where you're going.  The Moderate hotel Port Orleans is actually the closest resort by car and is probably about a 5- to 8-minute drive and would be a solid choice, offering you boat transportation to Downtown Disney, a refrigerator in your room, a privacy curtain between the sink area and bedroom and larger quarters in general.

Another choice would be to consider a garden wing room at the Contemporary or a standard room at the Wilderness Lodge. Both resorts sit on the boat loop from the fort's pier and are more economical than the cabins, although more expensive than Pop Century or Port Orleans. They are a considerable step up from Pop and POR in theming, pool attractions, restaurant offerings and overall accommodations.

However, if you're simply looking for the closest room for the cheapest price, I'd recommend Pop Century or even a room near Downtown Disney out of the resort area.

    Wishing y'all a magical vacation!

My family of 6 appreciates Disney's value! Although Ft. Wilderness is our second home, we've enjoyed the resorts for business, reunions and romantic getaways. For me, Disney also means dining: last count, I'd eaten at 55 restaurants around the World! Learn More About Whitney
