    We go to MK the day after Toontown closes (2/12). For the Railroad, will it still go around full circle? How many stops will they have once toontown closes? Thanks!

    Walt Disney LOVED trains. He was fascinated with the railroad - going back to his boyhood days in Missouri. Fast forward to 1950, and Walt's interest with the railroad hit a new all-time high with the construction of the Carolwood Pacific Railroad in HIS BACKYARD. He had a little help and inspiration from his friends (Ward Kimball, Ollie Johnston and Roger Broggie) in this endeavor. Perhaps the sweetest touch of it all was Walt naming the locomotive "Lilly Belle" for his wife Lillian.     Walt's fascination and interest in trains (and mass transportation) plays out at Disney Parks worldwide - from trains to monorails and omnimovers. 

    So, long story short - it would take more than a closure in Mickey's Toontown Fair to interrupt the Walt Disney World Railroad. The train will still circle the Magic Kingdom, and it will make stops at Main Street and Frontierland.

    You'll also see some hat tips to Walt and the backstory of his interest in trains by the very names that grace the trains at Magic Kingdom:
