Hello Natacha!
Welcome to planDisney! I had a chance to visit Walt Disney World Resort last year during that lovely week after Christmas and before New Year's Day. It's considered to be one of the busiest times of the year but I found it to be just magical.
The current
Hours & Events Calendar shows that on December 28 and 29,
Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks is planned to occur. No party ticket is needed! On December 30, there will be the Fantasy in The Sky Fireworks show! This is a special fireworks show just to ring in the New Year and I hope you get a chance to enjoy it. Right now, no parades are scheduled but last year during this special week instead of the
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, my family had a chance to enjoy
Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade! The calendar can change any time between now and when you arrive so I would keep checking but I have a good feeling you will have a lovely parade during your visit. Don't miss out on them no matter what parade is happening as it will sure to be amazing.
Since it will be a busy time during that week this is one of the times that I strongly encourage guests to purchase
Genie+. Attraction wait times can be long during this week and using Genie+ to reserve
Lightning Lane entrance times will save you so much time and make your vacation much less stressful. I would make sure to buy it through the
My Disney Experience Mobile App before 7 AM for your party and then right at 7 AM to make your first Lighting Lane reservation for the day. Each Park has attractions that run out of Lightning Lane time slots each day so try to book those first. For example, at Magic Kingdom Park, I have found
Peter Pan's Flight,
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and
Space Mountain to run out quickly. This time of year the Jungle Cruise transforms into the
Jingle Cruise with holiday theming and is very popular so consider this as a choice earlier in the day as well. Yes, Lightning Lane entrance times can run out in a day so make sure to grab these highly desired attractions or experiences first so that you can get a chance to enjoy them with minimal wait. Also, when you book a Lightning Lane there is a period you have to wait before you can book another one. The general rule is that the first Lightning Lane is booked at 7 AM and the second can be booked either two hours after the Park you are visiting has its official opening time OR right after you use the last Lightning Lane you booked. Your My Disney Experience Mobile App's Tip Board will tell you when you can book your next Lightning Lane. Make sure to set an alarm on your phone so you don't miss out! I hope this helps and you have a festive and fun time!
Happy planning!
