Boo to you, Whitney! I'm happy to answer your question about the spookiest time of year at the
Walt Disney World Resort.
I absolutely love the specialty events at the theme parks. The festive cheer of
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party and the autumnal atmosphere of
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party, both in
Magic Kingdom Park, are truly unique and, in my opinion, are both must-dos at least once! However, even if you are not planning on attending one of these events and understand that you will have to leave the park earlier than usual, it can be a great experience visiting on these days. This is because there are sometimes lower crowds on these days because some people are discouraged by the early closing time of the park and many people attending the party do not also have a ticket for the daytime!
If you plan on spending a day at Magic Kingdom Park when Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party is taking place and you do not have a ticket to the event, you will be required to leave the park at 6 p.m. However, if you are already in the park and your
advanced dining reservation is before 6 p.m., you will likely be able to enjoy your dinner and then leave promptly afterward. My biggest recommendation would be that if you're not planning to be in the park right before your dinner reservation and the reservation itself is close to 6 p.m., do not wait until it's close to 6 p.m. to enter the park as you may not be let in so close to the start of the party.
If you don't have your heart set on a particular Magic Kingdom Park restaurant, allow me to suggest
Jungle Navigation Co. LTD Skipper Canteen. It is such a unique setting with some adventurous options so be sure to
check out the menu beforehand to ensure everyone would be able to find something they'd enjoy. Of course, if you want a truly immersive experience, there's always
Be Our Guest Restaurant. Talk about a classic setting and some delicious food!
Whitney, even if you are not experiencing the party, you will still get to enjoy the beautiful fall decorations in the park and there are usually some specialty treats available during the day as well. And I don't know about you, but a simple ride on the
Haunted Mansion, and a visit to its wonderful
Memento Mori gift shop, makes me feel like it's Halloween all year round!

Here's hoping you catch the wind in your hair and a song in your heart,
