Ahoy, Meagan!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! How exciting that you're thinking about planning your family's first Disney Cruise! I remember my first Disney Cruise like it was yesterday!
Currently, Guests sailing on roundtrip Disney Cruises from a U.S. port to the Bahamas or Caribbean do not need passports. With that being said, Disney Cruise Line highly recommends that all passengers have a valid passport. I suggest taking a look at the
Passports and Cruise Documents page on the Disney Cruise Line website or give the helpful agents a call at (800) 951-3532 for further clarification. For U.S. citizen adults, a government-issued I.D. (like a driver's license) and a state-issued birth certificate are acceptable forms of identification for these itineraries. Children who are U.S. citizens and under the age of 16 years old may cruise with their parents by bringing a state-issued birth certificate. I just wanted to add that my entire family brings our passports along on every Disney Cruise. If an emergency occurs while visiting a port of call outside the U.S. and we need to immediately fly home, it would be much easier to do so with valid passports.
Certain Disney Cruises with Port Canaveral as a stop in the itinerary (like the 7-Night Bahamian Cruise from New York) include a one-day ticket to Walt Disney World Resort! However, cruises leaving from Florida typically don't have Park tickets included in the cruise fare. I highly recommend calling the Disney Cruise Line agents to ask which itineraries also include a Park ticket! Another option is booking a
Disney Vacation by Land and Sea to add days at Walt Disney World Resort to the beginning and/or end of your cruise!
