I want to go to DW with my children and parents. My parents don’t walk well and we will hopefully be renting scooters for them but what hotels do you recommend on WD property?

    Hi Amy,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I am so excited that you are planning a family trip with your children and parents. Our girls' first trip to the Walt Disney World Resort included their grandparents and it was simply the best trip ever!

Given your parents' mobility challenges, I definitely recommend staying at one of the resort hotels with access to the Resort Monorail. Disney's Contemporary Resort Hotel, Disney's Polynesian Village Resort, Disney's Polynesian Villas & Bungalows and Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa are all gorgeous properties with great amenities and easy access to Magic Kingdom and Epcot. Disney's Polynesian Village Resort is our new favorite but Disney's Contemporary Resort has a lovely walking path to Magic Kingdom that makes getting to and from the park easy. If you plan to rent Electric Conveyance Vehicles (ECVs) for your parents, then you would also be able to take advantage of the walking path.

Amy, prior to your arrival, be sure to review the Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities. The guide has a handy list of attractions that allow guests to remain in a wheelchair or ECV. My husband has mobility challenges and we have been quite pleased with the helpfulness of cast members as we navigate the parks and resorts. Be sure to make Fast Pass+ selections and advanced dining reservations to reduce your wait time in lines!

Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
