Hi Andriana!
Welcome to planDisney! Thank you so much for sending this great Disneyland Resort vacation planning question to us hEAR. I'm happy to be your planEAR today, and it's my pleasure to assist a fellow Texan.
Oooooh, August is a great time to visit Mickey and his pals at Walt's original house. I will say that midday through early evening can be kind of warm (just like our home) so be sure to book a
Disneyland Resort Hotel or
Good Neighbor Hotel that has an awesome pool so you can cool off.
You are correct that both the
Disneyland Resort Theme Park Ticket sales calendar, as well as the
Park Pass Reservation booking calendar, aren't available yet, but I do love that you want to be ready to go when they both open 120 days in advance of your Disney days. (Do note that to purchase tickets or book your
Park Pass Reservations,
all of the dates that you wish to be in the parks must be within that 120-day booking window.) You should be ready to book both of these steps in mid-April. I'm also happy to share that there's usually a rush on booking reservations within the last month before the actual arrival date, so if you can't book right at 120 days (you're on another vacation or celebrating the holidays when your booking window opens) you should be fine.
If you're like me, Andriana, and you want to do something, anything, that feels like it's contributing to your vacation planning, you can:
~ResEARch your
Disneyland Dining options. Menus might change slightly to offer a few bonus seasonal specials or treats themed to a new movie or Disney+ release, but they'll stay mostly unchanged.
Dining Reservations for Table-Service options open 60 days in advance, which can be booked daily as they open. Do note that the most popular spots go fast, so be ready to book any must-dos at 3:00 A.M. PST on that first day they open.
~Purchase
Disney Gift Cards from a store in your town, which can be used to pay for everything from your dining to your Disneyland Resort Hotel to all of your souvenEARs. (Pro Tip: I like buying mine at Target with my Red Card where they get the 5% discount!)
~Compare prices of a Disneyland Hotel + Ticket
vacation package offered directly through Disney vs. a
third-party travel company like Costco.
~Get to know the brand new
complimentary Disney Genie, which offers tips and suggestions throughout your Disney day, as well as the add-on Disney Genie+ Service, which includes access to
Lightning Lanes for some attractions and Disney PhotoPass downloads.
I hope that this helped to clEAR things up a bit, Andriana! Be sure to follow the
