We will go to Disney from Jan 19 to Jan 26 and we staying at the PopCentury. My son will turn five and the purpose of our trip is his birthday. What special thing I could do for his day and what clothes should I pack , if i should take repelent?$food

Hello Jenny! You must be excited to celebrate this special milestone birthday with your son at Walt Disney World! First, you'll want to make sure you add this celebration to your Pop Century reservation. Your son will be presented with a Birthday Button upon check-in which will bring him many Happy Birthday wishes on his special day.

I think a perfect day would be to go with a Pirate theme. You can begin his day by visiting The Pirates League for a pirate makeover and end the day with an adventure on the Pirates and Pals Voyage.  If your budget allows, you can also visit and arrange for a Pirate themed gift to be delivered to your room.

As far as how much dining money to bring with you - that depends on if you'll be dining at quick or table service.  At Pop Century, a meal with a drink will range between $10-$15 (consider purchasing a refillable mug to save money on your drinks).  You can also check menu prices at sites such as allears dot net.  If you have a special dining reservation, be sure to add the birthday celebration to that as well.  You can also request a birthday cake when checking in for your table reservation for an additional cost.

You'll want to pack a variety of clothing as the temperature in January can vary.  You can expect the highs to be around 70 but it can also be much cooler during this time of year.

I usually don't pack bug repellent when I visit Disney but do pack it if it makes you feel more comfortable to have it.  Otherwise if you need it, they do sell it in most resort gift shops.

I hope your vacation with your son is truly magical.  Please let us know if you have any follow up questions.  Diane
