We want to go on a Disney cruise next Aug (when our kids will be 5 3/4 & 2 1/2) - what do you recommend regarding Oceaneers club - partic during meals - can they go together rather than being split up?, does it cost extra? Is 2 1/2 too young for a cru

    Hi Stevie,

Welcome to the Moms Panel!  The Youth Activities facilities, Oceaneers Club and Oceaneers Lab are included with your cruise for guests as young as three years old.  If a child is checked-in to the club during a meal time, lunch or dinner will be served for him/her.  Unfortunately this does not solve your issue of keeping the children together, as your youngest isn't quite old enough to participate unaccompanied.  For your younger child, you could reserve space (for an additional fee) in the nursery.

Personally, I do not think that 2 1/2 is too young for a cruise.  All of my children took their first Disney Cruise between the ages of eight months and one year.  In all honesty it doesn't wind up being the cruise you may have once envisioned - participating in everything, busy every second, but more of just a fantastic way to immerse yourself in as little or as much activity that you would like.  What cruising with little ones did for us, was give us the ability to "vacation" from the cooking, cleaning, laundry, dishes - and simply rest when we could, party (family style) when we wanted and enjoy great time with our kids.  The service, cleanliness and detail is what makes Disney so special for us (not to mention characters and broadway style Disney performances).

    Good luck with your decision!
