Hi there, Kolena! We are so happy you found your way to planDisney with your question. I see that you are hoping to head into the parks this week!
You came to the right place with your question. I know many Guests are still navigating their way through the new
theme park ticket and
reservation system for the first time, so I am happy to be your Jiminy Cricket and guide you through this process. Currently, one-day tickets are priced seasonally depending on the time of year and day of the week. This applies to both One Park Per Day tickets and Park Hoppers. When you head to the Disneyland website to purchase a new ticket, you will see the calendar has different pricing on different days. All you need to do is choose your preferred day and the system will automatically calculate the cost and tell you the
tier assigned to that particular day!
As part of the ticket purchase process, you will select the park where you will spend the day. If you have a Park Hopper you will select the park where you will start your day with hopping available after 1 p.m. This will secure your theme park reservation. Reservations are subject to availability and help the Cast Members to know how many Guests to expect each day. I just took a peek at the
theme park reservation calendar, and have to be the bearer of not-so-magical news. There are currently no reservations available for October 13th. Kolena, I am so sorry to have to be the one to tell you that! However, I will tell you not to give up on that park day quite yet. Guests are always changing their plans, so reservations can be canceled and may open up. The calendar updates live to these changes so if you continue to check, you may be in luck!
The other scenario to run through is if you already happen to have a theme park ticket but it's in a lower tier than required for October 13th. Upgrading to a higher tier is possible with a quick visit to the Main Entrance Ticket Booth. A Cast Member will be able to help you upgrade and arrange for you to pay the difference. One note here is that you would still be subject to same-day availability for theme park reservations. If you are local and can head to the ticket booth ahead of your preferred park day, that would be ideal!
Kolena, I know this was a lot to absorb. I'm throwing a little pixie dust in the air and hope that you are able to secure a reservation for this week! Guests are asked to cancel reservations by 11:59 p.m. PST the evening before, so that is a day where you can typically see some movement in the calendar. If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at
planDisney!
Keep wishing on those stars,
Tara
