Hello, Sean!
Welcome to planDisney with an excellent question! It is a pleasure to assist you as you plan a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort during
the most magical time of the year!
Guests visiting with
Park Hopper Option are welcome to hop back to the original park they had a reservation for, subject to the park’s capacity limitations. I recommend keeping the latest version of the
My Disney Experience app on your mobile device to receive real-time notifications if Park Hopper Option is unavailable at a theme park, allowing you to plan accordingly. If the second park you plan to visit reaches capacity, you will unfortunately not be able to enter that park, even if you have a dining reservation. That is why Guests are encouraged to book restaurants located at the park where they have a
Disney Park Pass reservation.
I will also be visiting in December and I plan to make theme park reservations for Magic Kingdom Park one day and then hop to EPCOT for dinner later in the evening. I decided to make reservations at EPCOT because it is a large park, so I am hoping it will not reach capacity. I plan to keep checking
Theme Park Reservation Availability as I get closer to my travel dates and if I notice EPCOT is unavailable for reservations, I will probably try making a dining reservation at Magic Kingdom Park. If you plan to make dining reservations for Christmas, try securing a dining reservation at the first park you are visiting, so if you are unable to park hop you will at least have a plan B.
I hope this information is helpful, Sean! Come back to visit us if you have additional questions, we are delighted to help!
Best Disney wishes,
Thiana
