Can I go back to the original park where I made my initial reservation? My family and I would like to go to another park for a dining reservation but return to Magic Kingdom on the 4th of July. Is it possible to be denied re-entry?

Welcome to planDisney, Cynthia! We’re so happy you’re here.

The count down to your Walt Disney World Resort vacation is finally on! Can you believe that you will be off enjoying Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary Celebration in less than a week? How exciting for you! There will be so much to enjoy during this special time, so I just know you'll love it all. But, if you ask me, nothing tops the stunning Beacons of Magic at all four theme parks. You've never seen the theme park icons quite like this, transformed into a glimmering EARidescent rainbow of colors and magic. I'll tell you, the first time I saw them, they took my breath away!

With just a few short days until you take off on your incredible adventure, I’m sure you have lots of packing to do. So, let’s get to your question, shall we? With Walt Disney World’s Park Pass System, a reservation is required for the first park you plan to visit each day. Then, if you've purchased the Park Hopper Option for your ticket, you can hop over to another park after 2 p.m. each afternoon. As long as you have also purchased the Park Hopper Option for your ticket, you can absolutely head back to Magic Kingdom Park once you have finished your meal.

However, I do want to note that park hopping is subject to availability, so there IS a chance that the park will be at capacity and will no longer be accepting park hoppers. To check this before heading over, you can call this nifty hotline at (407) 560-5000 to find out the availability status of the theme parks. If any parks are at capacity with no park hopper access, there will be a recorded message on that line.

Now, if you have not yet purchased the Park Hopper Option for your ticket but would now like to add it, you can take care of this right from your My Disney Experience app. Simply log into your My Disney Experience app and open the menu by clicking on the three stacked lines in the bottom right corner. Next, click “Tickets & Passes” and select the ticket you want to change. From there, click on “Change Ticket,” and you’ll see the option to add the Park Hopper to your ticket. Simply follow the prompts, and you are all set!

I do hope you have a wonderful time on your upcoming vacation! If you have any questions before you take off, or even once you have arrived, please don't hesitate to reach back out! We here at planDisney just love to help our fellow guests make the most of their Walt Disney World Resort vacation!

    Have a magical vacation!
