Should we go to Animal Kingdom or Hollywood Studios for our last day of vacation? Our last day will be the Fri after Thanksgiving and we are trying to decide whether to take our 5 year old to AK or HS. Which would you recommend?

    Jambo, Jennifer!

I've said it once, and I'll say it again; Disney's Animal Kingdom is my absolute favorite park. Not only does it have some amazing attractions and restaurants, but the shows are the best on Walt Disney World property as well. My favorite show, The Festival of the Lion King, is the best of them all. The vocalists in this show are some of the most amazing live vocalists that I have ever seen at Disney. The interactive show is great for kids, and is sure to impress the adults in your party.

There are plenty of opportunities to see lots of different species of animals along the animal trails, and I bet that your 5-year-old will especially love Kilimanjaro Safaris. Last month I saw the two newest additions; adorable baby gorillas on the Pangani Forest Exploration Trail! They are definitely worth the walk over.

While Disney's Hollywood Studios is also an amazing park, it is currently going through a transition to include some awesome newly imagined areas. Because of this reason, I think that you might have more fun spending the day at Disney's Animal Kingdom.

I hope this helps, and if you need anything else, please let us know. Have a magical Walt Disney World vacation!

I am a recent graduate from Ball State University and mother to my 5-year-old son. We love all things Disney and when we aren’t watching Disney films or planning our next vacation, we love to go to touring Disney shows. I also love to cook, listen to music, read books, and paint. With my experience planning vacations and navigating the parks from a single parent’s perspective, I hope to be able to add a little “pixie dust” to your vacation! Learn More About Sarah
