You can absolutely go ahead and book a room-only reservation for your June or July visit. In fact, in my experience, it’s best practice to book as soon as you know when you would like to travel. That way, you can ensure that you secure the room category of your choosing at your preferred resort! Typically speaking, as your travel dates approach, availability tends to dwindle.
Special Offers are not guaranteed to be released, but historically savings have been released during the summer months, and so it’s certainly a possibility! If a special offer is released at a later date once you’ve already secured your booking, assuming the offer covers your travel dates, you may be able to apply those savings to your booking. Note that a limited number of rooms and room types are set aside for these Special Offers, so again, it’s best practice to apply the savings as soon as they become available. You can do this by modifying your reservation on the Walt Disney World website, or by calling and speaking with a Cast Member directly.
You’re ahead of the curve by thinking ahead, Jeremy! My family and I have had success in saving on our resort reservations by checking the
Special Offers page periodically leading up to our vacations.
I will also add that Walt Disney World Resort can certainly be very hot during the summer months. Staying hydrated and taking breaks from the heat are very important to ensure a smooth vacation. A cold treat never hurts in this department! If you find yourself strolling around World Showcase at EPCOT during your trip, I highly recommend dipping into
L’Artisan des Glaces at the France Pavilion for some ice cream or sorbet!
