Hi Carolina,
Welcome to planDisney! I love that you’re trying to make a little Disney magic happen for your daughter and her roommate. Mom of the year award loading! I’m sure being as close as they are to the most magical place on earth merits a visit. I’d say it’s a rite of passage for Florida students! So, let’s dive in and chat about your options for them.
Carolina, here’s the scoop: the Walt Disney World Resort doesn’t currently offer a general “college student” discount. Most ticket savings are tied to specific groups like Florida residents, military members, or Annual Passholders, and a student ID alone won’t unlock a discount.
Since your daughter is a Florida resident, she can absolutely take advantage of those
special Florida resident ticket offers (which can be a really nice savings!), but her roommate would need to provide valid
proof of Florida residency herself to use those same discounted tickets.
Another idea, since I have a college-bound student myself heading to a Florida school, some universities occasionally offer discounted tickets through their student activities office or campus programs. I would highly recommend the girls check directly with the University of Tampa to see if anything is available there!
If not, your best bet is to keep an eye on the
Special Offers page for general promotions that anyone can use, like seasonal ticket deals or hotel discounts.
I hope that helps you plan a practically perfect park day for both of them! And if you want help finding the best way to stretch that Disney budget just a little further, you know where to find me.
Wishing those college besties a day full of laughter, late-night snack runs, and just the right amount of pixie dust to make it unforgettable!
Emille
