Hey there, Leslie!
Welcome back to
planDisney, and thanks for visiting us with another question. Your vacation will be here before you can say “bibbidi-bobbidi-boo!” It’s a great idea to start getting your
dining plans in order now, especially since you have a food allergy.
The great news is that the
Disneyland Resort is very conscientious and accommodating when it comes to Guests’
special dietary requests due to common food allergies. It sounds like you’re already aware that many restaurants, from table-service to counter-service locations, offer special allergy-friendly menus that are separated by category so you can easily identify safe foods and alternate meal options.
Although the ingredients in traditional macarons are often naturally gluten-free, not all of the macarons served at the Disneyland Resort are safe for consumption by someone with a gluten allergy. For example, I’m aware that wheat and oat flour have been used in seasonal macarons in the past. Additionally, there may be a high risk of cross-contact in a display case or kitchen where the items are prepared. So, unless an offering is specifically labeled as gluten/wheat allergy-friendly, it’s best to err on the side of caution.
Also, I suggest checking in person at the resort before enjoying any food item, as ingredients and menus you may have viewed prior to your trip are subject to change. Please ask to speak with a chef or Cast Member who is trained in special diets about your needs when you arrive at a dining location.
Bon appetit, Leslie! Please feel free to
stop by again as you continue to prepare for your visit to The Happiest Place on Earth.
Wishing you magic,
Courtney
