Hello there, Michael!
I see that your vacation is coming up very soon, or should I say, "in less than 12 parsecs." I'm glad you followed the force and made your way to planDisney before making time to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World Resort-
The World's Most Magical Celebration.
Between nighttime spectaculars, such as the
Beacons of Magic and
Harmonious, I love how Disney uses technology, art, and live entertainment to leave us feeling transformed and emotionally moved. Speaking of technology, the "Glow with the Show" Ear Hats used leading-edge technology to synchronize with different nighttime spectaculars, and I remember how excited I was when the color-changing hats were introduced to the Walt Disney World Resort in 2013. It was so fun to see them interact with Fantasmic! and the nighttime projection show at Cinderella Castle in Magic Kingdom Park. Now, I have good and bad news to share about the "Glow with the Show" Ear Hats. If you change the batteries, the ears should still light up, but the technology is no longer supported for them to light up along with the nighttime spectaculars.
If you enjoy seeing your Disney merchandise lighting up in sync with nighttime spectacular music and lights, I'd suggest looking into the next generation of MagicBands,
MagicBand+. Besides the familiar features found in the MagicBand, such as unlocking your Disney Resort hotel room door and entering the theme parks with valid park admission, the MagicBand+ includes nighttime spectacular integration, Beacons of Magic interactivity, color-changing lights, and haptic vibrations. I recently got to try out the
Star Wars: Batuu Bounty Hunters experience offered at Disneyland Park, and it was so exciting to see the MagicBand+ light up and vibrate when I got close to my bounties.
I know that I turned into pixie dust as soon as I saw the Beacons of Magic at the Walt Disney World Resort. I hope you also get to experience this magic on your upcoming trip! Let me know if you have any
other questions.
May the magic be with you!
Melanie
