Hello! We were given a port arrival time of 11am for our upcoming cruise, but it didn't say when we would need to board our Disney shuttle to the port. Do you know when they will let us know this information?

    Hi there, Ashlee,

Welcome to planDisney. Thanks for the opportunity to help as you prepare for your Disney Cruise Line adventure.

Times and places of Disney Cruise Line-provided ground transportation can vary depending on the starting cruise ship terminal and passenger itinerary, such as whether the motor coach will transport you from a Disney Resorts Collection hotel, a hotel near your cruise ship terminal, or an airport near the terminal. Disney Cruise Line will normally send passengers an email shortly before their cruise with details about ground transfers. I also recommend visiting the My Reservations page on the Disney Cruise Line website to confirm that your ground transportation reservation is linked to your cruise booking.

When my family last used Disney-provided ground transfers before and after a Panama Canal cruise aboard the Disney Magic, our email didn’t happen to come through. (I even checked my spam folder! I think Stitch ate it.) We ended up contacting our travel agent for help. She reached out to embarkation services on our behalf to discover when Disney Cruise Line representatives would be available to meet us at the airport and when motor coaches would start to be dispatched from there to the cruise ship terminal.

In the end, the process was straightforward. And I was pleasantly surprised with how affordable the service was when compared with other options I researched. For our cruise out of San Diego, Disney Cruise Line representatives were on hand at the airport from about 8:30 AM until 3:00 PM. The first motor coach left for the cruise ship terminal just before 11:00 AM. I understand the last one was scheduled to leave around 1:15 PM. But we were too excited to get on the ship to wait around to confirm that! Here’s an example from my planDisney pal Prince of what his experience was like starting his cruise journey from a Disney Resorts Collection hotel.

I’m a little bit jealous of you, Ashlee. Since you already have your Port Arrival Time assigned, your Disney Cruise Line vacation must be very soon. My family and I are flying home to Utah at this very moment after finishing up sailing aboard the Disney Fantasy. We already miss our cruise very much. We are heading toward the chilly winter of the Wasatch. But you are heading toward a warm and inviting high seas. I’m confident your Disney Cruise Line vacation will be enjoyable.

If any more questions pop into your head as you finish final preparations before sailing, I hope you’ll drop us a line here at planDisney. It’s our pleasure to offer insights, recommendations, tips, and tricks from the perspective of fellow Guests and passengers like you.

    Have a magical time!
    ~Tony
