Disney gift cards pretty much anywhere on Walt Disney World property while you're there. Restaurants, snack carts and gift shops all, for the most part, accept them as payment. If you have a balance left on your Walt Disney World vacation, you can actually pay for that as well using your gift cards. If you don't want to wait to use your gift card, you can also use them at Disney stores in person or to purchase some theme park merchandise over on

How you choose to use your gift cards is totally up to you, the only stipulation is it has to make you smile since it's a gift. When I am given Disney gift cards I like to use them for a splurgy meal for my family and me. Right now, my restaurant of choice is
The BOATHOUSE at Disney Springs. The restaurant itself is set back on the lake with a stunning view of Disney Springs, especially in the evening when the sun is setting and Disney Springs starts to come alive with twinkling lights. I prefer to sit outside so we can watch the Amphicar Tours float by. On the menu, you'll find something to please even the pickiest of eaters. My go-to order is currently the lobster roll served warm with butter and I always upgrade to the truffle fries! Pair that with a nice glass of white wine and it's the perfect meal. After dinner, it's nice to walk off such a big meal around Disney Springs. One of my favorite sweet spots is
The Ganachery which is located pretty close to The BOATHOUSE. This little artisanal chocolate shop makes the most delicious chocolate truffles I've ever had. Because these are handcrafted and utterly delicious, they are on the pricier side of things. If I'm given a Disney gift card as a gift, I almost always pick up a box of 6 of them to enjoy. It's something I typically wouldn't purchase for myself and to me that makes the best use of a gift card.
Something my family does when given a Disney gift card as a gift is to snap a picture of whatever we use it on and send it with a thank you note to the person who gave it to us. So, when I pick up a box of chocolates at The Ganachery, I'll hold the box up in front of the sign and take a quick selfie. I think it's fun for the gift card giver to see what you ended up doing with it. I'm sure it would bring a smile to the person who gifted you one as well.
