Hello Again, Lizzie!
We love that you're asking so many great
Disneyland Resort vacation planning questions. I hope that we help you plan your BEST visit to Mickey's house ever!
This is a great question. I think it ultimately will depend on the individual artist, but I don't think it should be an issue. I brought a picture of my dog to the
Silhouette Studio in 2019 and they did an amazing job capturing all of his features, so I would think that the caricature artists would have no issues with this. (It's typically harder to capture a silhouette from a picture as usually the silhouette is cut from life vs. drawn freehandedly.) Your best bet will be to bring a very clear, very large photo of the subject you'd like drawn into your caricature. Bonus points if your picture is already printed out vs. on your phone. This way you might even be able to leave your picture so you could go run to get a quick bite to eat or so you won't have to entertain an otherwise wiggly child in a tight space. (Or give the wiggly child a hot chocolate, which is my go-to mom strategy when I need a few minutes.)
Speaking of drawing, have you given drawing your own Disney character a go yet? The
Animation Academy in
Disney California Adventure Park is so cool. Not only can everyone in your party participate, these pictures make for great souvenEARs on their own. And who knows, maybe you'll discover a hidden talent for drawing your own characters and caricatures!
