I want to give my 3 kids a budget. I am giving them specific amounts on individual gift cards, but would like to have it linked to their magic bands. Is this possible?

    Hi Bieu! Welcome to planDisney!

Your family must be SO excited to visit the Walt Disney World Resort in just THREE days! I have loved seeing the pictures of Christmas decorations appearing around the Disney Resorts Collection hotels and the theme parks. It is my favorite time of the year and there is something extra special about seeing the Most Magical Place on Earth all dressed up for the holidays. Your family will love it!

MagicBands cannot be linked to Disney Gift Cards, unfortunately. MagicBands can only be linked to your hotel account if you are staying at a Disney Resort hotel and that is linked to the credit card you have on file. This is the only way to use a MagicBand for purchases. You can, however, use Disney Gift Cards to pay down the balance of your account by visiting the Front Desk of your hotel. Then, the charges don't go on your credit card since you've already paid them with gift cards.

That doesn't help with giving your kids a budget, though! I would recommend giving them actual gift cards instead. Some locations at the Walt Disney World Resort offer gift cards that are on wristbands. This might be a good option to avoid your kiddos losing them. When I last visited, I found these wearable gift cards at the merchandise location in my Disney Resort hotel and various locations in the theme parks.

I hope you have the BEST vacation, Bieu! Please let us know if you have any other questions.
