Can you give me an honest opinion of Kona cafe? Does it require a reservation? Can my 80 year old parents share a meal as they do not eat a lot at one sitting? We are not using dining

    Hi Robyn,

We're big fans of Kona Cafe and often make a stop there during our Walt Disney World visits. It's among our favorite moderate restaurants. For breakfast,  we particularly like the famousTonga Toast and the Samoan, poached eggs over a delicious pork hash.

You absolutely can ask to share a meal here or at almost any table service restaurant that is not a buffet. At Kona, we find the lunch and dinner portions big and my husband and I often order just a selection of appetizers or get one entree and share. We ALWAYS get an order of the sticky wings and really enjoy the sushi.

As for reservations, it really depends on what meal and the time of year. I've seen the cafe nearly deserted at lunch time during a slower period, and I've had to wait even with a reservation during busy times. I would make a reservation if you really want to eat there. Otherwise, you could find there is no availability.

I hope that is helpful. Please feel free to follow up with me if I can offer more details or if you have other questions about dining at Walt Disney World. Enjoy your visit!
