Could you give me a few suggestions for a last half day itinerary? We have to be back at our resort by 12:45. On our last day we will have been to all the parks except AK (MK twice). Can we do AK in a 1/2 day? I have a 2 and 4 year old. Thanks.

    Hi Julie,

We usually spend our last half-day prior to heading to the airport going to Downtown Disney for shopping, attending a character breakfast at a resort hotel and/or swimming in the hotel pool. A swim will tire out the kids before traveling! However, seeing a few attractions in the Animal Kingdom is a great idea!

The Animal Kingdom's highlights can definitely be seen in a few hours, however you would need a few more hours to really take in the beauty of this park. It's a nice last day excursion though.

I would start at Kiliminjaro Safaris, attend the Festival of the Lion King show, say good-bye to characters at the greeting trails in Camp Minnie-Mickey, then head over to Dinoland. There, ride TriceraTops spin. Finally, let the kids burn off some energy at The Boneyard Playground. This is paradise for small kids. If time permits, while walking between these attractions, stop to view some of the animal exhibits or search out your favorite animal on The Tree of Life.

Be in line to enter the park prior to park opening time and make sure to allow time to get back to your resort. In fact, I think I'd invest in a taxi from the Animal Kingdom so that you don't have to leave as early as you would to get a bus.
