Hello, Tim! Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your fantastic question. My eyes just lit up when I saw it because the next best thing to visiting the Disneyland Resort yourself, is sharing the magical experience with someone else.
I love that you want to level up your gift giving above and beyond a gift card. Vacation packages are available, however purchasing as a gift (vs. a gift card) can be tricky as pricing can vary depending on the hotel selection, dates of stay, etc. However, I do have a suggestion for getting creative to make this wonderful idea work.
If you know when the family would like to visit, you might think about
booking the vacation package on their behalf. Make sure to first visit the
Theme Park Reservation Availability calendar to ensure their dates are available. A $200 deposit is due at time of booking with the balance due 30 days prior to arrival. This can all be taken care of by you behind the scenes for gift giving purposes. Tickets will be sent 4 days prior to arrival to the email provided during the purchase process. You can input your email address and forward all information on to the family when appropriate (to keep the gift a surprise). Think of yourself as a magic coordinator! Once you've gifted the vacation package, have the receiving family make their
park reservations. Park reservations can be made up to 120 days in advance and I recommend securing them as soon as possible. Something else to keep in mind...the default park tickets that come with the vacation package are 1 Park Per Day tickets, however you will have the option to upgrade to
Park Hopper tickets if you choose. You can also call Guest Services at (714) 520-5060 for additional help or with any other questions.
There are some
wonderful benefits to booking a vacation package and staying at a Disneyland Resort Hotel. For instance, each Guest aged 3 and over will receive an exclusive Walt Disney Travel Company Collectible pin and lanyard. Additionally, when staying on property at a Disneyland Resort Hotel, Guests have access to
early park entry to
Disneyland or
Disney California Adventure Park.
Tim, I hope I've given you some ideas to think about. Regardless of how you decide to go about giving your gift, the best part will be all the magical memories the family will share and create together. Being a part of that is so heartwarming and exciting!
Thanks again for your question. Please come back with any other questions you may have.
Have a magical day,
Michelle
