Hi there Jeremy, and welcome to planDisney!
Thanks for sending your question our way. What a wonderful thing you are looking to do for your surrogate! I'm happy to give you some ideas for getting started.
If you know exactly when your special person would like to travel, you could book the entire vacation package yourself using the Build Your Vacation tool on the
Walt Disney World website, or by phone at (407) 939-5277. You'll want to have an idea of the type of hotel in the
Disney Resorts Collection you'd like to reserve and how many days the lucky lady will spend in the theme parks. I recommend purchasing airfare separately, and only after confirming the dates with your surrogate, as those tickets are usually less flexible and often nonrefundable. If you'd like to cover the entire cost of the vacation, be sure to include some
Disney Gift Cards when you present her with the trip so she'll be able to pay for meals and snacks.
If you're not sure exactly when your surrogate would like to travel and want to allow her to have some input, another option is to give her Disney Gift Cards in the amount that you would spend on the trip. Disney Gift Cards never expire and can be purchased in up to $1000 increments. They can be used for everything from
Disney Cruise Line to
theme park tickets to hotel stays. You could include the gift cards with a Disney travel guide book, or even set her up with an authorized Disney travel agent to help make her dreams come true. To make sure all expenses are covered, provide her with airline gift cards as well. Check the Orlando International Airport website to see which airlines fly nonstop from her home airport.
I hope this is helpful as you begin to put together this thoughtful gift, Jeremy. Best wishes as you embark on exciting new adventures, and don't hesitate to reach out to planDisney in the future for tips for your own family's Disney vacations. Thanks for stopping by, and have a magical day!
