HI! I have 2 girls (2.5 & 7. y.o). This will be our 1st visit. What is the best Moderate and best Value hotel to stay near Magic Kingdom? Do I have to book my own reservations with the Deluxe Dining package for each meal? Last minute plans for this M

    Hi Leslie,

All of the Magic Kingdom Resorts are Disney Deluxe Resorts.  If you are going to stay in a Value or Moderate, I don't think their location to the Magic Kingdom matters that much.

My favorite Value Resort is Pop Century.  I think your girls will enjoy the theming there.  My favorite Moderate Resort is Port Orleans Riverside.  My family loves the rustic feel of the Alligator Bayou section of the resort.  However, I should tell you that most people I talk to would pick Port Orleans French Quarter over Riverside.  French Quarter is much smaller and perhaps more intimate.  However, I like the fact that Riverside has a Table Service (full service) restaurant and I like the pool at Riverside much better than French Quarter.

I strongly recommend that all guests make Advanced Dining Reservations (ADRs); at least a few for the entire trip.  More importantly, I think ADRs are absolutely critical for anybody with a Disney Dining Plan that includes Table Service meals, and I suggest making an ADR for every day of the trip in that case.  You want to get the most benefit from your plan; that means eating somewhere that you would enjoy.

For "last minute" Table Service suggestions that I provided in another guest's question, see here.

    Have a magical vacation!
