We are take a girls trip consisting of myself, daughter, mother-in-law and sister-in-law. We are looking at maybe resort hopping between French Quarter and Pop Century. We will be driving down in one car. What do you think? Any suggestions?

Hey, Kathy!  A girls' trip? Sounds like fun...can I jump in your suitcase? Our family loves to "resort hop" to enjoy different experiences all in the same vacation.  Here are a few things to keep in mind:

    • If you haven't made your reservations yet, I would stay in Pop Century first and then complete your stay at POFQ.  POP is a value resort, and although the theme is fun and vibrant, the amenities are a bit disappointing after enjoying the convenience and comfort of a moderate resort such as POFQ.
    • Pack as lightly as you can so that you can easily pack up on the day of the first resort checkout, pack up the car and drive over to resort #2 to store your luggage and load Disney transportation for the parks as soon as possible. Most people underestimate the time it takes to get dressed, pack, load and travel...so make it easier by packing light.
    • The best Disney value is making the most efficient use of your time....and every little bit helps.  POFQ is a bit closer (transportation wise) to Epcot and MK than POP. So, plan your park days accordingly. Reserve, DHS and AK for the time when you're at POP. Also, if there's a shopping trip in your plans, POFQ is only a boat ride away from Downtown Disney!
    • Lastly, it's always a good idea to take resort transportation to MK since guests can not park as close to the entrance as the buses or monorail trains get!  However, if your plans include early mornings at one of the other parks, it's very convenient to have your own transportation and get a close parking spot. If your car is close by, it serves as a great "locker" during the day.
Congratulations on getting away for a girls' trip!  I hope you have a wonderful Alabama day, and a magical vacation!
