Ahoy there, Heidi!
Welcome back to planDisney and thank you so much for sailing by with your question. Heidi, a
Disney Land and Sea Vacation Package is the best of both worlds. You get to be where the people are, walking around Walt Disney World for a few days on those....what do they call them? Oh yes, feet! And, you get to spend time flippin' your fins aboard one of the gorgeous Disney Cruise Line cruises. It just doesn't get better than that!
Our family has done this several times, including over last New Year's and to celebrate my father's 70th birthday a few years ago. It is a wonderful way to enjoy special family occasions, and it sounds like you will have a lot to celebrate next year!
Heidi, you have a few options for booking your May 2026 vacation. You may opt to combine your
pre and/or post-night stay with your Disney Cruise Line reservation, or you may opt to book your Disney Cruise Line sailing first and add your hotel and transportation to the port later.
I just chatted with Tegen in Disney Cruise Lines, who noted that
Magical Disney Cruise Line destinations have been announced through April 2026 with select sailings available through May 2026. If one of these sailings interests you, you can call and speak with a Cruise Vacation Planner at 1-855-DCL-PLAN now. I find these Cast Members to be the most knowledgeable, so I prefer to book through them. However, as the
Walt Disney World Resort hotel availability has only been released through 2025, they may only be able to do the cruise portion at this time.
Alternatively, if you are looking for a different sailing or wish to wait to book both the land and sea portions together, I recommend checking the Disney Cruise Line website frequently for availability or additional itinerary announcements in May 2026. I will note that again, at this time, Walt Disney World Resort hotel availability is only released through 2025 at the moment. But, you certainly can check with the
Disney Cruise Vacation Planner as they may have more information. We don't know when the updated information is coming - Mickey keeps a few things tucked inside his vest.
But while you wait, I want to make sure you have information about transfers between your Land and Sea destinations. Disney Cruise Line ground transportation may be arranged from the following locations to or from Port Canaveral:
* Walt Disney World Resorts
* The Orlando International Airport (MCO)
* Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport Hotel
* Transfers are not offered from/to Shades of Green Resort or Walt Disney World's Swan & Dolphin resorts
* Transfer costs are $45.00 each way, per Guest
* No charge for children under 3 years of age
* Ground transfers may be added up to three (3) days before boarding the ship and will not sell out
* Ground transfers are non-refundable when removed from a reservation seven (7) days or less before the start of the vacation date
If you are going out of a different port than Port Canaveral on your Disney Cruise, like Ft. Lauderdale, you may need to arrange your own transportation to/from Orlando.
I hope this information is helpful as you begin dreaming about your magical adventure. I wish I could provide you with more information at this time, Heidi. But remember, even miracles take a little time. If I can help you with any further, be sure to sail back here and I'll be so happy to assist you.
Magically Yours,
Keri
