Hi Imelda!
The choice to cancel is completely up to you, especially since you are coming from across the country. Florida weather is pretty unpredictable especially in the summer months. I live about an hour away from Walt Disney World. The weather forecast for this past weekend was for rain every day, but it was beautiful and not a drop of water. Usually when there are rain showers, they don't last very long. If we get caught in a rain storm, we usually try to find an indoor show, a gift shop to browse or decide it's lunch or snack time. A good amount of the attractions at Walt Disney World are indoors, so if it's raining, it's just a matter of getting from one attraction to the other. We use our Disney ponchos all the time. One of the good things about the rain is that it scares other guests away, so the lines end up being shorter than if it were a sunny day. The water parks and resort pools will remain open as long as there is no lightning, which is very common. It's quite fun to swim in the rain! You can declare one day a
DisneyQuest day, which is an all indoor interactive theme park.
Take a look around the
Walt Disney World website and check out how many indoor attractions there are. The parks won't close because of rain, so grab a pair of water proof (comfortable) sandals, a poncho and enjoy yourselves at the Happiest Place on Earth!
Have a magical day!
